Traditions and customs for a wedding are always unique from all over the world and one of the best parts about our world is how the same tradition or custom can be implemented so distinctively in each culture, let’s talk about weddings it’s a celebration which immensely varies across the cultures.

And yes if you attend a destination wedding or a wedding with a completely different custom you would obviously find the differences, not all weddings are the same and not everyone follows the same custom or tradition. Every culture has its own tradition and custom which is very unique and many would find it weird too.

Have a look at the weird but unique customs from the world:

India: Fall of the Kalire

 A country where there is a lot of customs and traditions followed, a place where every ritual is respected. Indian weddings are such that once people from the world should experience this, there is a tradition where “Kalire” usually worn by brides should fall on any person sitting in a row, this would indicate that the person whom this Kalire have fallen will be the next to get married. And also the coconut shaped Kalire indicates wealth and prosperity.

India: Juta Churai

There is also a unique custom followed in India, it’s called “Juta Churai” were bride’s mischievous sisters and cousins will hide the groom’s shoes or Juta and would ask for ransom and the groom should pay the ransom as to get his shoe or he had to return home bear foot. This custom is often very interesting to watch as the groom would struggle to get his shoes back.

Norway: The Cake will Steal the Show

So attending a Norway wedding, the cake called "Kransekake" is created by placing iced almonds cake rings on the top of each other and it turns out to be a cone shape, it’s a hallow cake at the center filled with gifts, like a wine bottle. And there is a fun tradition, where the bride and the groom would pick the top layers and the left layers would resemble the number of children they will have.

Cuba: Pay to Dance with the Bride

Brides would often dance at the wedding, it is quite common, but in Cube, you have to pay to dance with the bride, whoever dances with the bride has to pin money on her dress as a tradition and this money would be used by the couple for their honeymoon.

Philippines: Doves Releasing

The newlywed Filipino couples will release a Dove couple as a custom, the birds would represent a harmonious life and prosperity in the couple’s life, people who will witness this will fall in love with the tradition, as the custom is so peaceful act performed for love ahead in the life of the newlyweds.

Peru: Find Love Single Ladies

A custom, where a cake assembled with ribbons on the sides and have a fake wedding ring inside will be served to single ladies and who so ever will find the ring in the slice of the cake, this is a custom and a thought that the lady will find the ring in the cake will be the next to get married.

Russia: Chew it

This is a sweet custom followed in Russia where the newlyweds share a wedding sweetbread called “Karavay” decorated with wheat, this sweetbread resembles prosperity and the interlocking rings represents faithfulness. Whoever eats the biggest bite, either husband or wife without using hands will be ruling the house.

Romania: Kidnap the Bride

If the bride is found nowhere, this doesn’t mean that she ran off. It’s a tradition in Romania where the bride will be kidnapped by the friends and family before the wedding and the groom have to pay the ransom in order to get the bride, this could be anything, a round of drinks or taking her to a romantic honeymoon, the custom would be funny to watch.

China: Tissues are Ready

So there is a place called Tujia in China were the bride will start crying before a month of her wedding, the bride cry for an hour daily and is accompanied by her mother, later after 10 days by her grandmother and by the end of the month, every female of the family will join her, this is a tradition to express joy and the ladies will weep with melodious tones.

Spain: Save your Tie 

In Spain, there is a custom where the groom's mate or any of the groom’s friends will cut the Tie of the groom and chop it into pieces, and these pieces are sold to the guests to raise money for the newlywed and there is a saying, that the tie could even be chopped for negativity.

So isn’t this all customs weird but unique!
